MEN’S FOOTBALL: The Irish Cup first round continues tomorrow evening with Wayside Celtic taking on the River Valley Rangers in a Dublin county derby after Castlebar Celtic earned a 4-1 win at North End United in the competition’s opening game.

Crumlin face Lucan United tomorrow before the rest of the fixtures are completed at the weekend.

The League of Ireland Premier and First Division teams join the competition in the second round.

MEN’S GOLF: US masters champion Rory McIlroy will play with world number one Scott Scheffler and defending champion Xander Schauffele in the first two rounds of the US PGA championship which starts in Charlotte, North Carolina tomorrow.

Europe’s Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald will hit the first shot of the tournament when he leads out a group including former winners Padraig Harrington and Martin Kaymer.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Uruguayan Paulo Pezzolano has been appointed as Watford’s 12th full-time head coach in the last six years following Tom Cleverly’s sacking.

Cleverly had led Watford to the verge of the Championship play-offs with a win ratio of over 50 per cent before they lost four of their last five games.

Pezzolano was sacked from his last job at Real Valladolid six months ago with the club sitting bottom of La Liga.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Hooker Jake Burns returns to the squad as out-of-form St Helens aim to end their three-match losing run in the Super League against Catalans Dragons at Langtree Park tonight.

Saints are currently sixth in the table and only sit above the Dragons on points difference.

Defending champions Wigan face Leigh tomorrow evening before table-topping Hull KR take on second-bottom Huddersfield on Saturday.
