MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Two days after making himself unavailable for Salford’s Super League game with St Helens, and was accused of “downing tools” by head coach Paul Rowley, Sam Stone has joined Warrington on loan until the end of the season.
Dan Russell and Tom Whitehead will move in the opposite direction to Salford as part of the deal.
Stone made only two appearances for Salford, who sit bottom of the table, this season.

ICE HOCKEY: North Vancouver-born Sam Reinhart netted four times as defending champions Florida Panthers thumped the Edmonton Oilers 5-1 on Wednesday morning to take an unassailable 4-2 lead in the play-off final series and retained the Stanley Cup.
Florida were appearing in their third consecutive final while five-time winners Edmonton, who last won the trophy back in 1990, were also runners-up in 2024.
