MEN’S BASKETBALL: Kyle Allman top-scored with 19 points as Ankara romped to a 99-71 win at Bourg-en-Bresse in the first leg of their EuroCup semi-final on Tuesday evening.

In the other last-four clash, Jonah Mathews netted 21 points for Besiktas as they came from behind at half-time to enjoy a 91-72 victory over Bahcesehir College in the Istanbul derby.

The second and potentially decisive legs both tip off on Friday.


MEN’S CRICKET: Scotland continue their attempt to reach the 2027 World Cup when they face Oman in Namibia’s capital Windhoek tomorrow.

The Scots are currently second behind USA in the qualifying tournament with Oman in fourth, six points further back but with three games in hand. Both teams will also play Namibia in this mini triangular series.

Scotland’s George Munsey is currently the competition’s leading run scorer.


MEN’S RUGBY UNION: It’s second against third in the Super Rygbi Cymru Trophy tomorrow evening when Cardiff welcome defending champions Newport to the Arms Park.

Cardiff lost the reverse fixture 19-12 back in November but are now eight points ahead of tomorrow night’s opponents.

League leaders Ebbw Vale, who are a further eight points clear of Cardiff, are not in action until Saturday when they host mid-table RGC at Eugene Cross Park.


MEN’S FOOTBALL: Burnley’s Axel Tuanzebe bundled home the only goal of the game in extra time as the Democratic Republic of Congo beat Jamaica 1-0 at Mexico’s Guadalajara Stadium on Wednesday morning to qualify for this year’s World Cup.

They will join Group K with Portugal, Uzbekistan and Colombia. Iraq beat Bolivia 2-1 in their final play off to seal a place in Group I with France, Senegal and Norway.
