WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Murphy Agnew and Amy Gallacher both scored hat-tricks as Celtic steamrollered Aberdeen 13-0 but they still sit second in the Scottish Women’s Premier League, one point behind Rangers who comfortably saw off Montrose 7-0. Reigning champions Glasgow City battled to a 3-1 win at Dundee United, Hearts brushed aside bottom club Hamilton 6-1, Hibs won 4-1 at Spartans and Partick came from behind to beat Motherwell 4-2.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Leicester maintained their 100 per cent record at the top of the Women’s BBL after leaving it late to overcome bottom club Nottingham 83-75. Malian international Djeneba N’diaye bagged 19 points as second-placed Caledonia’s late surge edged out the Essex Rebels 69-61, unbeaten London comfortably won 95-64 at the Oakland Wolves, Durham edged Manchester 70-64 and Sheffield stuffed Newcastle 94-78 on Sunday evening.

WOMEN’S RUGBY UNION: Saracens are the early pace-setters, although only on points difference, in the English Premiership after their 52-18 win at Ealing put them ahead of Exeter, who came from behind to enjoy a 29-14 victory over Bristol. Champions Gloucester-Hartpury ran in eight tries in their first game of the season as they romped to a 52-14 win over Leicester and Sale held on to edge out Harlequins 35-31.

WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Lauren James netted after just 70 seconds to help Women’s Super League leaders Chelsea to a 5-2 win over Leicester on Sunday whilst Beth Mead scored twice as second-placed Arsenal beat West Ham 3-0. Khadija Shaw bagged a first half hat-trick in Manchester City’s 7-0 thumping of Spurs, Everton won 2-1 at Aston Villa, Liverpool eased past Brighton 4-0 and Manchester United saw off bottom club Bristol City 2-0.
