WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Unbeaten Rangers won 3-0 at Hibs to retain their four-point lead in the Scottish Women’s Premier League from Celtic, who thumped Partick Thistle 6-1 with Amy Gallacher netting a hat-trick, and Glasgow City beat Aberdeen 8-1.

Hearts won 3-0 at Dundee United, Spartans lost 4-1 to Motherwell and Jade McLaren smashed a second-half hat-trick as Montrose routed the League’s new bottom club Hamilton 7-0. 

DARTS: Belgian Dimitri van den Bergh capped a tournament of surprises as he won the UK Open after edging out current world champion Luke Humphries 11-10 in Sunday night’s final in Minehead.

Michael van Gerwen had crashed out 10-7 to Mensur Suljovic in the fourth round, defending champion Andrew Gilding went out in the fifth and teenager Luke Littler and Rob Cross both lost out in the quarter-finals.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Megan Gustafson hit 23 points and 12 rebounds as table-topping London beat Durham 98-65 to protect their 100 per cent record in the Women’s British Basketball League.

Second-placed Leicester held off Oakland Wolves 79-73, Newcastle squeezed past Nottingham 72-69, Manchester went down 98-76 at the Essex Rebels and Melita Emanuel-Carr top scored for Sheffield with 22 points as they saw off bottom of the pile Cardiff Met 86-60.

WOMEN’S RUGBY UNION: Reigning champions Gloucester-Hartpury maintained their 100 per cent record in the English Women’s Premiership with a hard-fought 31-24 bonus point win against last season’s runners-up Exeter.

They lead the table by nine points from Saracens, who scored five tries in the last 13 minutes to overcome struggling Leicester 54-19. Bristol won 38-10 at Ealing and Loughborough beat bottom club Sale 38-15 on Sunday afternoon.
