Palestine Action target ‘complicit’ companies in Scotland
Allianz Glasgow

PALESTINE ACTION activists have targeted Scottish offices of Keysight Technologies and Allianz as they call for the sundering of ties with the Israeli war machine.

Allianz offices in Glasgow were daubed in red paint and graffiti stating “AZ drop Elbit, it’s genocide” yesterday morning, as campaigners called on the global insurance giant to stop providing one of Israel’s largest arms manufacturers with the insurance it needs to continue production in Britain.

As that was underway, Palestine Action comrades in Edinburgh made a return visit a year on to Keysight Technologies, which supplies electronic components to Elbit-owned UAV Tactical Systems, parts essential to the manufacture at their Leicestershire plant of the drones being used to devastating effect on the children of Gaza by the Israeli military.

The actions came just a day after Palestine Action cut the power supply from Italian-owned weapons manufacturer Leonardo UK’s Edinburgh plant, itself a long-term focus of Palestine solidarity action as a major supplier of parts essential to the function of Israel’s F-35 fighter fleet.

A Palestine Action statement said: “With Israel having abandoned all pretence to maintain the rules of the agreed ‘ceasefire’ and respect for international law, returning to its relentless bombing of the Palestinian population of Gaza, it is more important than ever to stop the manufacture and supply of the weapons being used to murder Palestinians.

“Britain is complicit in the slaughter, with Keir Starmer’s government aiding and abetting the Israeli military and covering for the war criminals in power there, politically.

“So long as Israeli weapons are manufactured in Britain, we will continue to target the companies producing them and every firm who assists them in doing so.”

A spokesperson for Allianz UK said: “We respect everyone’s right to have and express their opinion. However, we will not give in to threats and criminal behaviour that endanger the safety or security of our people, business, and property.”

Keysight Technologies was contacted for comment.
