Union RMT warns of action against drivers’ treatment
NOTTINGHAM bus workers “underpaid and undervalued” by operator CT4N will take a take a series of one-day strikes over coming weeks, RMT announced yesterday.
The transport union, which represents workers across the city including the Medilink routes serving NHS hospitals and clinics, has accused the employer of dragging its feet in talks over pay and workload.
Announcing strikes for Thursday June 12, Wednesday June 18, Wednesday June 25 and Wednesday July 2, and urging the employer to return to the negotiating table, RMT general secretary Eddie Dempsey said: “Our members at CT4N perform a vital public service, day in and day out, including getting NHS staff and patients to hospitals.
“They have had enough of low pay and poor conditions while their workload increases and the cost of living keeps rising.
“The company has had every chance to come to the table with a fair offer. Instead, they have dragged their feet.
“This union will back our members all the way in their fight for dignity and respect at work.”
CT4N was contacted for comment.
