New Holyrood boundaries put to the public
A general view of the Scottish Parliament in Holyrood, Edinburgh

NEW boundaries for Holyrood constituencies and regions have now been put out for consultation ahead of next year’s elections.

In the first shake-up of Scottish parliamentary constituencies since 2011, Boundaries Scotland has proposed to change seven, four of which will be renamed.

Its proposed constituency of Linlithgow and Polbeth will be renamed to Bathgate, while the proposed constituency of Callendar Park, Linlithgow and Stenhousemuir will be renamed Falkirk East and Linlithgow, and Glasgow Airport and Langbank will be renamed Renfrewshire North and Cardonald.
