Latest Ferguson Marine ferry delays an ‘absolute disgrace’, campaigners charge

YET another delay to two overdue ferries being constructed by Scottish shipbuilders Ferguson Marine is an “absolute disgrace,” campaigners charged today.

It emerged on Thursday that the timetable for delivering the Glen Sannox and the as yet unnamed hull 802 has slipped once again, with a further £6 million in funding needed this year.

The government-owned company, which operates a yard at Port Glasgow on the Firth of Clyde, pushed the absolute deadlines for the two vessels back again, but hopes they will be completed this autumn and by “late summer” 2024 respectively.
