FORMER Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn MP and trade union leaders will join Stand Up to Racism’s Unity protest against Britain First on Saturday.

The co-founder of Your Party will speak at the 11.30am rally in Manchester’s Piccadilly Gardens alongside PCS national president Martin Cavanagh, Labour councillors and other anti-racists from across Greater Manchester.

Greater Manchester Stand up To Racism chairwoman Nahella Ashraf said: “Nazi Britain First are marching to demand that ‘over 10 million foreigners’ be ‘deported from the country.’

“We cannot allow them to march freely around our city centre, spreading violence, racism and hate, and denying our democratic right to live peacefully.”

The PCS union president Martin Cavanagh said: “Now, more than ever, we need hope across our communities. We stand against all forms of racism and fascism.”

The rally is being held five days before the Labour government faces a major test of support in the Gorton and Denton by-election.
