IRAN launched attacks on Gulf allies of the United States for the second consecutive night on Wednesday and into this morning, as the chaos unleashed by the US and Israel’s unprovoked war continues.

Following a series of attacks on Wednesday, sirens sounded in Kuwait early today, where air defences intercepted missile and drone attacks during a “blatant Iranian aggression,” the country’s Ministry of Defence said on social media.

The Council of Arab Interior Ministers described Iran’s strikes on targets in Kuwait, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain as a “violation of international law.”

Iran’s latest attacks on its neighbours came after it accused the US of bombing a wedding party on Tuesday, leaving at least four people dead — two women and two children aged four and 16— and 67 wounded.

United Nations secretary-general Antonio Guterres was “deeply alarmed by reports of civilian casualties, including a strike that reportedly hit a wedding ceremony in Iran,” his spokesman Stephane Dujarric told reporters on Wednesday night.

He reiterated Mr Guterres’s call for an immediate halt to the fighting.

Meanwhile, the Iranian Red Crescent Society called on the International Criminal Court to investigate the strike, saying the attack warranted “an independent, impartial, thorough and effective investigation” due to the “civilian character of the location.”

Fighting between the US and Iran increased this week after the US hit Iranian rocket launchers on an island in the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday, claiming that Iran planned to use them to shoot mines into the waterway.
