Last week I asked for a big uptick in donations. But I nearly fell off my saddle when an anonymous reader sent in a whopping ten grand in support of the Pedal4Progress cycling fundraiser!
This amazing donation helped push my weekly postbag to a record-breaking £20,855.
With 36 grand left to raise by the end of August, things look set for an exciting mountain-top finish.
But be warned: many a race has been lost because of complacency.
A supporter in Yorkshire who sent in £50 gets what I’m banging on about: “It was either you or a haircut for Keir Starmer,” he quipped.
Did you hack off your own hair during lockdown or did you hang with the hippies in Hackney Wick?
Have you swapped the train for a pair of trainers or the public bar for handlebars?
