Education key to addressing growing inequalities, UCU fringe hears

EDUCATION can play a vital role in addressing growing inequalities that have fractured our society, the UCU said today.

Speaking at a fringe meeting held by the union on the sidelines of the Labour conference, UCU general secretary Jo Grady said: “There’s been growing inequalities of class, race, gender, disability. 

“They have fractured our society. They’ve contributed directly to the social problems that are more and more visible.”
