Welsh Labour delegates demand a steel and industrial strategy for Wales

WELSH Labour conference delegates have backed a strategy for steel within a wider national industrial strategy — and to work with the UK government to deliver it.

Community union’s Reg Gutteridge told delegates he had worked in the steel industry for 30 years.

He spoke about the pivotal role the steel industry has played in Welsh life shaping the country’s identity and forging communities in Port Talbot, Llanelli, Newport and Shotton.
