CIVIL Service pensions administrator MyCSP faces a six-week strike over its failure to recognise the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union ahead of its takeover by outsourcing giant Capita in December, the union announced today.

MyCSP administers the Civil Service Pension Scheme, which has around 1.7 million members.

PCS said that it has refused to recognise and engage the union in formal consultation in the TUPE transfer process ahead of the transfer contract to Capita.

PCS president Martin Cavanagh said: “This prolonged strike action is likely to cause significant disruption and shows the determination of our members to have a say in setting their own terms and conditions.

“We strongly urge managers at MyCSP to do the decent thing and show they trust and respect their staff by allowing them to be represented by an independent trade union.”

Union members are to strike from July 7 to August 15. MyCSP has been contacted for comment.
