HGV drivers at GXO to begin strikes following sacking of a Unite rep

HGV DRIVERS at logistics firm GXO are to begin an indefinite strike later this month following the sacking of a Unite rep, the union announced today.

Workers supplying taps and pipes to outlets City Plumbing and PTS voted for walkouts after the dismissal of Paul Roberts on “trumped-up charges,” according to Unite.

Drivers based at the US-owned transnational’s Lockheed Road depot in Warrington will down tools from May 22, with suppliers due to run low on stock soon after, the union warned.
