Sunderland winger Adam Johnson was reportedly arrested yesterday on suspicion of having sex with a schoolgirl.

The midfielder was taken from his home around 9am to be questioned by the police.

Durham Police said in a statement: “A 27-year-old man was arrested earlier today on suspicion of sexual activity with a girl under 16.
