Smith calls time on two decade England career

England captain Kelly Smith retired from international football as the all-time leading goalscorer for the national side yesterday.

Smith called time on her 20-year career, scoring 46 goals, but will continue playing her club career with Arsenal.

She said: “Playing for England has been such an important part of my life for so long, but I feel now is the right time for me to retire from international football.
