ISRAELI occupation forces killed three more Palestinians yesterday, including a 16-year-old boy, as US Vice-President Joe Biden attacked the Palestinian Authority for “failing to condemn” violence.
Teenager Ahmad Yousef Amer was gunned down by soldiers after allegedly attempting a stabbing attack at a military checkpoint outside the blockaded village of al-Zawiya in Salfit district yesterday morning.
Another resident was shot and wounded in the incident.
Local official Naim Shqeir told the Ma’an news agency that two Palestinians had been shot during the incident and “left bleeding” when ambulance crews were denied access.
Israeli police later shot dead two Palestinian gunmen who opened fire in Jerusalem’s Old City.
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said that the pair initially opened fire on an Israeli bus in the illegal settlement of Ramot, before fleeing the scene without causing any injuries.
On Tuesday, US student and military officer Taylor Force, who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan, was stabbed to death in the seaside resort of Jaffa.
On the Israeli leg of his Middle East tour, Mr Biden criticised Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas for not condemning the murder at a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
A brief statement on the Twitter account of Mr Abbas’s Fatah party declared: “This is the result so long as Israel does not believe in the two-state solution and ending its occupation.”
It also described the attacker, who was also killed, as a “hero” and a “martyr.”
