Striker leaves pitch after suffering racist abuse

Panama forward Luis Tejada stormed off the pitch on Sunday during a match between Peruvian clubs Juan Aurich and Cienciano after suffering racist abuse from fans.

The Juan Aurich striker booted the ball into the crowd in the 70th minute, responding to Cienciano fans’ constant abuse and was booked for his actions.

Speaking after the match he said: “I am sorry about the situation I have had to experience. Being sincere, I thought this would not happen again, the same that happened last year when I played against Sporting Cristal, but I was wrong.
