RFU chief not happy with Six Nations spot

A fourth successive Six Nations runners-up spot is unacceptable, Rugby Football Union chief executive Ian Ritchie said yesterday.

But Ritchie maintains that Stuart Lancaster’s men can win the Rugby World Cup which they will host in September and October.

England finished second to Ireland by six points, falling short despite a heroic 55-35 defeat of France on Saturday.
