CRICKET:

India take an unassailable 2-0 lead into the final leg of their Twenty20 series with Afghanistan in Bangalore tomorrow.

The Indians have cantered to six-wicket wins in both matches but their captain and opening batsman Rohit Sharma has failed to score a run and survived for a total of only three balls.

New Zealand also take a 2-0 lead into this morning’s third of their five-match Twenty20 series with Pakistan.

MEN’S FOOTBALL:

Hosts and defending Asian Cup champions Qatar play their second Group A match tomorrow when they take on Tajikistan at the al-Bayt Stadium in the coastal city of al-Khor.

Currently ranked as the world’s 58th best team, Qatar beat Lebanon 3-0 in their opening game while the Tajiks, who sit 48 places below them in the world ratings, drew 0-0 with China.

Lebanon face China in tomorrow’s other fixture.

MEN’S BASKETBALL:

EuroCup action continues tomorrow evening with the London Lions hosting Spain’s Joventut Badalona, who need a win to reach the play-offs, and Group A’s top two clashing as Paris travel to Belgrade to play Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Elsewhere, in Group A Olimpija Ljubljana, the only team in the competition without a win, tip off against Venice, Hamburg face Besiktas and Ukraine’s Prometey Slobozhanske tip off against the Vilnius Wolves.

WOMEN’S FOOTBALL:

Holders Chelsea have been drawn at home to Championship side Crystal Palace in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Last season’s runners-up Manchester United travel to Southampton, Wolves face Brighton and Championship leaders Birmingham will visit Leicester.

Arsenal host Manchester City in the only all-Super League tie, Spurs face Charlton, London City meet Liverpool and Nottingham Forest take on Everton in the other ties.

ICE HOCKEY:

Guildford Flames get the chance to move ahead of Belfast into second place in the Elite League tomorrow night when they face off against Coventry on home ice.

The Flames won both of their games at the weekend, while Coventry edged out Fife 5-4 after overtime.

Table-topping Sheffield opened up a 14-point lead, with a game in hand, after wins over Manchester and Dundee.
