MEN’S BASKETBALL: David Nwaba top-scored for London with 17 points on his EuroCup debut as the Lions booked their play-off place after a 100-96 win over Hapoel Tel-Aviv in front of a sparse crowd at Belgrade’s Aleksandar Nicolic Hall on Tuesday evening. Group A’s other game saw the Vilnius Wolves edge to a narrow 91-89 win over bottom club Olimpija Ljubljana, who have yet to win a game in this season’s competition.
SPEEDWAY: Leicester’s Max Fricke leads the Australian Championships by just two points from Oxford’s Rohan Tungate as they head into tomorrow’s penultimate stage at Mildura’s Olympic Park. Reigning champion Jack Holder, who rides for Belle Vue, sits in fourth place. Fricke is chasing his fourth title after winning three of the last four tournaments, Tungate won the 2018 championship and finished as runner up to Fricke a year later.
MEN’S CRICKET: Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli return to the Indian Twenty20 squad for the first time in over a year as they start a three match series against Afghanistan in Mohali tomorrow. Neither are currently ranked in the world’s top 40 batsmen for the short format game but Sharma will captain the team. Star Afghan spinner Rashid Khan is likely to miss the first match due to his recent back surgery.
MEN’S CYCLING: With the road racing season yet to start it’s already been confirmed that the world’s top four grand tour riders; Jonas Vingegaard, Tadej Pogacar, Remco Evenepoel and Primoz Roglic will only race against each other at the Tour de France. Vingegaard won last year’s Tour and was runner up in the La Vuelta whilst Roglic won the Giro. Pogacar finished second to Vingegaard in France.
