WOMEN’S BASKETBALL:
Megan Gustafson sank two free-throws with just three seconds to go as the London Lions sealed a hard-fought 81-70 victory over Besiktas (149-145 on aggregate) to become EuroCup champions on Wednesday night.
They are the first British basketball team to ever lift a European trophy.
Karlie Samuelson top scored with 19 points for the Lions, and the British international also claimed the Most Valuable Player award.
MEN’S FOOTBALL:
Table-topping Shelbourne put the League of Ireland’s only unbeaten record on the line against Bohemians tomorrow evening in Dublin’s northside derby.
Tonight’s other fixtures see second-placed Derry, who are six points off the pace, visit draw-specialists Drogheda, reigning champions Shamrock Rovers play Sligo, Waterford up against Galway and bottom of the pile Dundalk looking for their first win of the season against St Patrick’s.
CYCLING:
Tadej Pogacar retains a clear lead in the latest men’s international cycling rankings, sitting almost 700 points ahead of second-placed Jonas Vingegaard with Remco Evenepoel in third.
Vingegaard and Evenepoel both suffered serious injuries during the recent Tour of the Basque Country.
Demi Vollering tops the women’s list from team-mates Lotte Kopecky and Lorena Wiebes. Pfeiffer Georgi is the highest ranked Briton in 12th place.

Runaway Elite League winners Sheffield Steelers begin the end of season championship play-offs with the first leg of their quarter-final match against Fife tomorrow evening.
The return leg takes place in Kirkcaldy on Sunday.
