WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: London Lions remain unbeaten in the British Basketball League after romping to an 85-43 win at third-placed Leicester and then seeing off Sheffield 92-74 over a crowded weekend schedule. Erin Mcgarrachan topped scored with 19 points as London’s nearest challengers Caledonia beat Oakland 86-62, Essex won 83-68 in Newcastle and Nottingham eased past Cardiff Met 91-61 in their bottom of the table clash.

MEN’S CRICKET: Unbeaten India face tournament hosts South Africa at Willowmoore Park, Benoni tomorrow for a place in the Men’s Under 19 World Cup final. Reigning champions India have crushed all of their opponents so far, cruising to three out of five wins by over 200 runs. Their smallest winning margin was 84 runs against Bangladesh. Two unbeaten teams, Pakistan and Australia meet in the second semi final on Thursday.

CYCLING: The Netherlands continued to dominate the Cyclocross World Championship on Sunday afternoon as Mathieu van der Poel led from start to finish to win his sixth men’s title. Compatriot Joris Nieuwenhuis finished 37 seconds behind to take silver with Belgium’s Michael Vanthourenhout in third. Welsh racer Zoe Backstedt took the gold medal in the Women’s Under 23 race from the Czech Republic’s Kristyna Zemanova and Leonie Bentveld.

WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Two penalties from Guro Reiten helped keep Chelsea three points clear in the Super League as they saw off Everton 3-0 and second placed Manchester City beat Leicester 2-0. Leah Williamson made her first start of the season as Arsenal surprisingly lost 2-1 to West Ham, Liverpool drew 1-1 with Tottenham, Brighton went down 2-0 at Manchester United and Aston Villa were held 1-1 by bottom club Bristol City.
