MEN’S FOOTBALL: Scotland’s under 21s will move level with Spain at the top of Group B if they beat Kazakhstan in tomorrow night’s Euro 2025 qualifier at St Mirren Park. Group B’s other game sees Malta, who have yet to pick up a point, travel to face a Belgium team that are level on points with the Scots. Elsewhere tomorrrow afternoon Israel continues to escape an international ban but has to play its match with Poland in Jena, Germany.

MEN’S ICE HOCKEY: Average attendances at Elite League matches are up almost 10 per cent on last season with the current figure standing at 3,479 per game. Champions elect Sheffield have seen their crowds increase to over 7,600, the 18th highest attendance figure throughout Europe. Belfast are the only other British team in Europe’s top 50. Germany’s Cologne Sharks currently top the pile with an average crowd of 16,993.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Reigning champions Penrith kick off round three of the new NRL season in west Sydney tomorrow morning when they host Brisbane Broncos in a repeat of last year’s Grand Final. The match also starts the league’s multicultural round, an annual event which attempts to recognise and celebrate the heritage and cultural diversity of the coaching and playing staff from its 17 clubs. Almost 30 per cent of NRL players were born outside Australia.
