MEN’S FOOTBALL: Glentoran host Linfield at the Oval tomorrow night in the first semi final of the Irish Cup. The Glens last picked up the trophy in 2020 whilst Linfield, the most successful team in the competition’s history claimed their 44th win in 2021. The second semi final sees Cliftonville play Larne at Windsor Park, Linfield’s home ground, on Saturday evening. Both games will be streamed live on the BBC iplayer.

NETBALL: Reigning champions Loughborough will move top of the Super League tomorrow night with a win against bottom of the table Strathclyde in Glasgow. Current league leaders Manchester are not in action until tomorrow when they take on Team Bath. Tomorrow’s other fixtures see Leeds host Surrey at the Sheffield Institute of Sport and Saracens play the Severn Stars. London Pulse are at Cardiff on Saturday evening.

CYCLING: Nine-time Tour de France stage winner Wout Van Aert, who won the green jersey in 2022, suffered several fractures, including a broken collarbone and ribs, in a crash at the Dwars door Vlaanderen race in the Flemish Ardennes on Wednesday. Jumbo Viasma team-mate Matteo Jorgenson won the men’s race from Jonas Abrahamsen and Stefan Kung. Marianne Vos out-sprinted Shirin van Anrooij to take the women’s race with Letizia Paternoster third.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: The top two clash in the United Rugby Championship tomorrow evening as league leaders Leinster welcome the Pretoria-based based Bulls to Dublin’s RDS Arena. Leinster currently hold a four point advantage over the Bulls. Third-placed Glasgow, who are a point further back, face the Scarlets on Saturday. At the other end of the table the bottom two meet in tomorrow night’s other fixture with Zebre travelling to the Dragons.
