MEN’S FOOTBALL: Fraserburgh blew the Highland League title race wide open after seeing off league leaders Brechin 4-2 to move within three points of the top.

Buckie Thistle are a further six points back but have four games in hand after their match at Keith was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Third-placed Banks O’Dee kept up their challenge with a 2-1 win over Huntly while bottom club Strathspey were thumped 7-1 by Turriff.

WOMEN’S CYCLING: World Champion Lotte Kopecky sprinted clear of the leading group on the final straight in the velodrome to narrowly win Saturday’s 148.5km Paris-Roubaix race.

Italy’s Elisa Balsamo was second with British champion Pfeiffer Georgi third.

In a highly successful start to the season, Kopecky has also won the Tour of the UAE and taken the honours at the Strade Bianche and Nokere Koerse one-day races.

WHEELCHAIR RUGBY LEAGUE: Damien Dore and Jeremy Bourson both scored five tries as the Catalans Dragons steamrollered Wigan 68-28 to win the European Club Championship on Saturday evening.

Wigan had led through captain Declan Roberts’s early try before Catalans romped into a 46-12 half-time lead.

The Dragons are next in action when they begin their defence of the Challenge Cup against Hull FC at the end of the month.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Larne lead the Irish Premiership by just one point after they lost 1-0 at home to Crusaders and second-placed Linfield drew 0-0 at Glentoran.

Cliftonville in third secured Europa Conference League qualification with a 2-2 draw in Coleraine while Dungannon ensured their Premiership survival with a 3-2 win over Carrick.

Bottom club Newry lost again, 3-2 at Glenavon and Ballymena won by the same score in Loughall.
