WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Combined attendances at this season’s Super League and Championship games have already topped the one million mark.

It’s the first time this figure has been reached and all Super League teams still have at least two more matches to play.

A record gate of 60,610 was set at Arsenal’s home game with Manchester United in February.

West Ham are the only Super League team who haven’t played at their main stadium this season.

SPEEDWAY: Tom Brennan top-scored with 9+2 points and Piotr Pawlicki backed him up with 8+2 as Birmingham won the last heat of the night to edge out Belle Vue Aces 47-43 and move off the bottom of the table with their first win of the year.

They travel to new basement-dwellers King’s Lynn tomorrow evening when Sheffield host Oxford and current table-toppers Leicester take on the Ipswich Witches.

WOMEN’S CRICKET: South East Stars are the only team with a 100 per cent record as they head into the third round of Rachel Heyhoe Flint Trophy matches at Taunton tomorrow morning to face Western Storm.

Tomorrow’s other games see reigning champions the Southern Vipers meet Lancashire Thunder, the Northern Diamonds take on bottom club Loughborough Blaze and the Central Sparks welcome the Sunrisers to Kidderminster.

MEN’S BASKETBALL: Jamal Murray’s late basket helped defending NBA champions Denver beat the LA Lakers 108-106 on Tuesday to seal their play-off series 4-1.

Denver progress to the quarter finals where they are joined by Minnesota, who whitewashed Phoenix 4-0 and Oklahoma City, 4-0 winners over New Orleans. Play-off action continues tomorrow with the New York Knicks up against Philadelphia, Orlando in Cleveland and Indiana travelling to Milwaukee.
