Almost 1,000 people put out of work in the wake Carillion's collapse
THE number of people put out of work following the collapse of outsourcing giant Carillion reached almost 1,000 today after further job losses were announced.
The official receiver said today that 59 employees working on construction projects that have been paused will leave the business later this week.
Now 989 jobs have been lost since Carillion went into liquidation last month, with 6,668 jobs saved out of the previous directly employed workforce of 18,000.
