Eva Olid promises ‘attacking’ Man United as Women’s Super League season begins
Players and officials come out onto the pitch ahead of Women's Super League match at Old Trafford, Manchester, March 28, 2026

EVA OLID hopes to bring an “attacking mentality” to Manchester United as she prepares to take charge of her first game this evening.

The 41-year-old was appointed as head coach of the Women’s Super League club at the beginning of August following the departure of Marc Skinner.

Her first competitive match at the helm is tonight’s WSL opener against the ambitious London City Lionesses and she wants United to play an attacking style this season.

“Of course, my ambition is attacking football, really always focusing the game plans on how we can hurt the teams,” Olid told a pre-match press conference.

“That is our main focus, that attacking mentality. We want to play with the ball, create a lot of chances to score.

“In defence — discipline, focus, switch on — but our mentality has to be attack.”

Olid confirmed that new arrival Rebeca Bernal will be available for tonight’s match in London.

The 29-year-old joined the club from Washington Spirit on Wednesday and is their fourth signing of the summer along with Andrea Medina, Janina Leitzig and Monica Jusu Bah.
