Unite secure inflation-beating pay deal at Veolia
“It’s another win for Unite securing better jobs, pay and conditions for workers” – Sharon Graham

VEOLIA workers based at Grangemouth will see inflation-beating pay rises of up to 9 per cent in a deal secured by their union, Unite.

HGV drivers, operatives, team leaders and supervisors responsible for waste management at the plant had earlier this year overwhelmingly rejected a 3 per cent offer — effectively a pay freeze — from the employer.

Now after talks with Veolia, Unite has secured the workers a pay rise of up to 9 per cent, worth up to around £1.20 an hour, backdated to January 2026.

Welcoming the deal, Unite industrial officer Pat Egan said: “Unite has delivered a major pay win for our membership at Veolia.

“The workers have achieved inflation-beating wage rises across the board which builds on years of success at the Grangemouth plant.”

Unite general secretary Sharon Graham added: “The pay deal at Veolia based in Grangemouth is the latest example of Unite members standing together to get what they deserve.

“It’s another win for Unite securing better jobs, pay and conditions for workers.”
