LIVERPOOL have rejected a renewed approach from Inter Milan for midfielder Curtis Jones, the Press Association understands.
The Serie A champions made a verbal offer of £21.7million for the 25-year-old but that is well below the Anfield club’s £34.6m valuation.
It is the second time this year that the Reds have rebuffed interest from Inter following an approach in January.
Given the significant gap between the two clubs’ valuations, Liverpool are not anticipating further negotiations at this stage.
Jones has only one year remaining on his contract and talks over a new deal have yet to make significant progress.
However, Liverpool are not looking to sell and have not ruled out the possibility of agreeing fresh terms. There has also been no indication that Jones would seek to force a move.
Jones, a two-time Premier League winner, came through the Liverpool youth system and has made 228 first-team appearances since his debut in 2019.
