WALES: A probe has been launched after an officer fired a shot during an incident in Milford Haven on Saturday.
Armed officers were responding to reports of a person in possession of a knife;
the gun was not directed towards an individual and no injuries were sustained, Dyfed-Powys Police said.
The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
DERBY: Seven people suffered serious injuries when a car hit pedestrians in Derby city centre on Saturday evening.
A 36-year-old Indian-born Derby man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after the incident in Friar Gate and remains in custody.
Derbyshire Police said: “Although counterterrorism officers are assisting us with early investigations, this does not mean the incident is currently being treated as terrorism.”
LEEDS: Police said they had informed and were supporting the family of a 16-year-old girl who died in hospital on Saturday.
The youngster from the Cleckheaton area was found unconscious, suffering serious injuries, in Austhorpe early that morning.
Four people – two women aged 18, a man aged 19 and a 17-year-old boy – were arrested at a nearby address on suspicion of murder and remain in custody, police said yesterday.
LONDON: A woman involved in a hit-and-run crash with a motorcycle in Trafalgar Square was taken to hospital on Saturday evening.
The pedestrian, in her 40s, suffered life-threatening injuries.
The rider of the motorcycle fled the scene and is being sought, the Metropolitan Police said.
