MEN’S BASKETBALL: Three Turkish teams are into the EuroCup semi-finals after Kyle Allman’s three pointer in the dying seconds gave Ankara’s Turk Telecom a 91-90 win over Hapoel Jerusalem on Wednesday evening.

Besiktas had earlier edged out Italian club Trento 77-76 and Istanbul’s Bahcesehir College squeezed past Romania’s Cluj Napoca 75-72.

French team Bourg-en-Bresse beat Olimpija Ljubljana 83-79 to book the final place in the last four.

WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Table-topping Glasgow City drew 1-1 against Celtic on Wednesday night to maintain their unbeaten Premier League record, but their lead has been reduced to four points after Carly Johns bagged a hat-trick for second-placed Hearts in their comfortable 4-1 win at Partick Thistle.

The other midweek fixture saw Rangers come from behind twice to earn a 2-2 draw with defending champions Hibernian.

ICE HOCKEY: Swedish forward Didrik Henbrant scored in the 12th minute of overtime to help the Nottingham Panthers come from behind and beat Coventry Blaze 3-2 in Wednesday evening’s Challenge Cup final.

Coventry had opened the scoring through Mike Pelech’s deflected shot early in the second period. Although this is their first title since 2016 the Panthers have now picked up the trophy a record extending nine times.

MEN’S CYCLING: Britain’s double Olympic cross country mountain bike gold medallist Tom Pidcock won Wednesday’s 199kms Milano-Torino semi-classic one day race.

Pidcock accelerated clear of the small leading group in the last 600 metres to finish four seconds ahead of Norwegian rider Tobias Halland Johannessen with Slovenia’s Primoz Roglic a further second back in third.

Pidcock currently rides for the Swiss-based Pinarello-Q36.5 team.
