METROPOLITAN Police strikes have been called off after call centre and civilian staff accepted an improved pay offer, Unite said today.

More than 170 union members postponed a six-day strike last week to vote on the deal.

Unite said that the dispute emerged after police officers and staff across the country received a 4.2 per cent pay rise but staff at the Met were only “offered parity in exchange for drastic and detrimental changes to their terms and conditions.”

The new offer is for the same rise, backdated to August 1 2025, without any changes to terms and conditions, along with a one-off £900 payment towards the cost of living and working in London.

Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “Unite takes a no tolerance approach to attacks on our members’ terms and conditions and this win shows why it pays to be a member of our union.”
