MEN’S ICE HOCKEY: A year and a half after Nottingham Panthers forward Adam Johnson died on the ice after colliding with opponent Matt Petgrave during an Elite League match, the Crown Prosecution Service has finally decided that there will be no criminal charges brought against the Sheffield Steelers player. 

Petgrave was arrested after Johnson’s death and spent 17 months on bail from South Yorkshire Police.

MEN’S BASKETBALL: Indiana edged Milwaukee 119-118 after over-time to seal a 4-1 series win in the NBA’s first round play-offs while defending champions Boston saw off Orlando 120-89 to make it through and Detroit Pistons won 106-103 at the New York Knicks to revive their hopes.
