WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Jane Ross netted a hat-trick and Rio Hardy and Lizzie Arnott chipped in with a goal each as Scottish cupholders Rangers thrashed Aberdeen 5-0 to seal their place in this year’s final. 

They will face nine-time winners Glasgow City for the trophy after Katie Lockwood bagged two second-half goals in their 4-0 victory over Motherwell. 

Rangers currently sit second in the Premier League, one point ahead of third-placed Glasgow City.

HORSE RACING: Sean Bowen was crowned this year’s national hunt champion jockey title after saddling 180 winners, 38 more than second-placed Harry Skelton with last year’s winner Harry Cobden a further 26 wins back in third. 

Skelton won the most prize money, finishing over half a million pounds ahead of Bowen. 

Amateur Patrick Mullins, who rode this year’s Grand National winner Nick Rockett, had the highest win ratio at 41 per cent.

CYCLING: Tadej Pogacar continued his superb run of form by claiming an emphatic win at Sunday’s Liege-Bastonne-Liege one-day classic. 

The world champion made a solo attack 35km from the finish line to come in over a minute ahead of second-placed Giulio Ciccone, with Ireland’s Ben Healy third. 

Mauritian rider Kim Le Court took the women’s race in a sprint finish from Puck Pieterse, Demi Vollering and Cedrine Kerbaol.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Sutton United host Leeds United under 21s in the inaugural National League Cup final at Gander Green Lane tomorrow evening. 

It’s the culmination of a controversial competition that started with 16 under-age teams from Premier League 2 and 16 clubs from the National League. 

The £1 million prize money has been provided by the Premier League and can only be claimed by National League teams.
