LIBYA: Authorities have ordered 10 international aid organisations, including Doctors Without Borders and the Norwegian Refugee Council, to close their offices, accusing them of illegally aiding African migrants and violating security laws.

The Internal Security Agency claims the aid helped settle migrants in Libya, shifting its role from a transit country to a destination.

The organisations deny wrongdoing and stress the urgent humanitarian needs of migrants facing abuse and neglect.

FRANCE: Anti-racism group SOS Racism filed a legal complaint against far-right group Luminis Paris after it distributed violent, xenophobic flyers near a Marine Le Pen rally, urging French people to “fight back” against foreigners.

The flyers, featuring a bloodied knife and inflammatory language, are accused of inciting racial hatred and violence, potentially violating French hate speech laws.

SOS Racism is urging authorities to ban the flyers and dissolve the group.

IRAN: A gas leak at a coalmine near Damghan in northern Iran has killed seven workers, including three Afghan nationals, according to state media.

President Masoud Pezeshkian has ordered an investigation, amid concerns that safety protocols may have been ignored.

The incident follows a series of fatal industrial accidents in Iran, where about 700 workers reportedly die each year.

BRAZIL: A passenger bus overturned early Tuesday, killing 11 people, including two children, and injuring 16 others.

The bus, carrying about 50 passengers from Goias to Ribeirao Preto, flipped in Araguari after the driver lost control, leaving some victims trapped inside and others ejected.

The operator, Real Expresso, said it is co-operating with authorities, as Brazil continues to grapple with a high rate of fatal traffic accidents.
