Lewis loses England job in wake of Ashes whitewash
Possible replacements will now be weighed up, including ex-captain Edwards
16-05-2024 of England head coach Jon Lewis

JON LEWIS has been axed as head coach of England Women, paying the price for his team’s abject Ashes whitewash.

Lewis’s position has been hanging by a thread ever since his side were thrashed 16-0 in their multi-format series down under at the start of the year.

Having also overseen an error-strewn showing at last year’s T20 World Cup, when they were knocked out in the group stage, he has now been let go as part of a wide-ranging review by the England and Wales Cricket Board.
