MEN’S ICE HOCKEY: Belfast Giants enjoyed 4-1 and 6-0 wins over Cardiff to top the Elite League by five points as defending champions Sheffield Steelers slipped to a 3-2 shoot-out defeat at Guildford after beating Nottingham by the same score.
At the other end of the table bottom club Fife Flyers won their first home game since December 1 when they edged out Glasgow Clan 3-2 after a shoot-out.
MEN’S CRICKET: Ireland are 1-0 down when they take on Zimbabwe for the third leg of their three match Twenty20 series in Harare on Tuesday.
Opener Lorcan Tucker top-scored with 46 as the Irish posted 137-8 in Sunday’s game before Zimbabwe squeezed home by three wickets with four balls to spare.
