WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Sam Ashby top-scored with 17 points as Oaklands Wolves produced a dominant fourth quarter to maintain their unbeaten Super League record with a 66-58 win at Caledonia while second-placed Sheffield won 80-66 in Nottingham.

Bottom club London Lions remain without a win after going down 70-79 at home to Durham, Manchester eased to a 99-55 success at Cardiff Met and Essex came from behind to edge Leicester 76-71.

WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: The Nations League resumes tomorrow evening with Northern Ireland following up their 2-0 loss in Poland with a home game against Bosnia-Herzegovina, who thumped Romania 4-0 in their tournament opener.

After their 1-0 defeat in Austria Scotland take on the Netherlands at Hampden Park, Wales host the world’s fifth-best team Sweden at Wrexham’s Racecourse Ground and the Republic of Ireland travel to Slovenia.

MEN’S ICE HOCKEY: Belfast Giants enjoyed 4-1 and 6-0 wins over Cardiff to top the Elite League by five points as defending champions Sheffield Steelers slipped to a 3-2 shoot-out defeat at Guildford after beating Nottingham by the same score.

At the other end of the table bottom club Fife Flyers won their first home game since December 1 when they edged out Glasgow Clan 3-2 after a shoot-out.

MEN’S CRICKET: Ireland are 1-0 down when they take on Zimbabwe for the third leg of their three match Twenty20 series in Harare on Tuesday.

Opener Lorcan Tucker top-scored with 46 as the Irish posted 137-8 in Sunday’s game before Zimbabwe squeezed home by three wickets with four balls to spare.

Craig Young was the pick of Ireland’s bowlers with 4-24 from his four overs.

The first game of the series was abandoned due to rain.
