Major sponsors pull out due to claims of corruption

Sony looked to set to follow Emirates airline in not renewing their sponsorship with Fifa yesterday due to the negative publicity surrounding allegations of corruption.

Emirates’ contract is set to expire next month and they confirmed on Sunday that they would not be signing a new contract with the world governing body.

Fifa confirmed they were still in talks with Sony about a new deal, with the conglomerate one of Fifa’s top six sponsors which provides millions of pounds in sponsorship income a year.
