Manchester United manager David Moyes will learn his fate in the next 24 hours, with many sources saying he will be out of a job come the end of the season.

Moyes took over last summer from Alex Ferguson and inherited the Premier League champions, but with the club sitting seventh in the league, it seems the Glazers have finally lost patience.

Sunday's 2-0 defeat at the hands of his former club Everton seems to have been the final straw for senior figures at Old Trafford and Moyes could be gone as soon as this week, with Ryan Giggs thought to be the man to take over till at least the end of the season, starting with Norwich on Saturday.

Under Moyes, United have failed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in 19 years , are already guaranteed their lowest-ever Premier League points tally and their worst finish since 1990.

Rumours began weeks ago that Moyes lost the dressing room and the senior players, with Giggs seeming to have fallen out with the manager over the direction the club was going.

A host of former players have questioned the way United have played this season, with Dwight Yorke saying that there is no desire from the players after Sunday's defeat.

Yorke said: "What I have seen is a Manchester United team who lack the desire to win a football match. The boys look like they are ready for the end of the season and to go on holiday.

Louis van Gaal has been reported as a potential replacement, along with Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simone and Borussia Dortmund manager Jurken Klopp.

Klopp signed a contract extension until 2018 last October and it seems he has no intention of leaving last year's Champions League finalists.

"It's an honour that some big clubs rate my work at Dortmund but I'm not the type of person who wonders whether the grass is greener elsewhere," Klopp said.

"I will tell interested teams the same that I would have told them before: it's flattering if there's interest, but I have a contract with Dortmund until 2018 and I tend to fulfil contracts, even if that's surprising to some people.

"So thank you, but no chance."

The board had considered giving Moyes £200 million to spend on rebuilding the side this summer but with £27.5m summer signing Marouane Fellaini a huge disappointment, it is clear that they no longer trust him with such a large sum of money and are looking for a new direction for the club.

The club confirmed that he had not been sacked but refused to comment on his future, only saying: "We do not comment on speculation."
