DIRECTOR Andy Nash criticised the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) under chairman Colin Graves for unacceptable standards of governance in his resignation letter yesterday.

Nash, a former Somerset chairman, made public his letter to Graves on Twitter, bringing to an end his 14-year stint on the ECB board.

Nash wrote in an accompanying tweet: “I have today resigned from the ECB board with a heavy heart. Ultimately as a non-executive director if you find yourself with significant disagreements you must walk the plank with dignity and no complaints. I wish all at the ECB & in cricket the very best for the future.”

Central to Nash’s complaints is the plan, revealed by The Times on Tuesday, to pay compensation to Test match-hosting counties in the years they do not stage a match.
