MEN’S FOOTBALL: Derry will face Shelbourne in a repeat of the 2022 FAI Cup final after the teams were drawn together in this year’s quarter finals. Shelbourne currently lead the League of Ireland by two points from Derry with a game in hand. The other ties in the last eight see second-tier UCD take on Bohemians in a Dublin derby, Athlone Town up against Drogheda and Wexford hosting Treaty United in a First Division clash.

WOMEN’S CRICKET: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that this October’s Women’s Twenty20 World Cup has been moved from Bangladesh to the United Arab Emirates after a number of the participating countries put restrictions on travel to the country. The ICC, which is officially registered on the British Virgin Islands to avoid paying corporation tax, moved its headquarters from London to Dubai in 2005.

SPEEDWAY: Belle Vue Aces need just one point to confirm their place in the play-offs when they visit out-of-form Ipswich for the second leg of their round two Premiership meeting tomorrow evening. The Aces hold a massive 58-26 lead from the first leg. Elsewhere tonight Oxford take a 54-36 lead to King’s Lynn in the Premiership while Sheffield face table-topping Leicester in the WSRA National Development League.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: The first leg matches of the Europa League play-off round kick off tomorrow evening with Hearts beginning their European campaign with a trip to Czechia’s FC Viktoria Plzen while south Dublin-based Shamrock Rovers are at PAOK. Other highlights include Jagiellonia Bialystok’s game with four-time European champions Ajax and Dinamo Minsk up against Anderlecht. Winners from the play-off round qualify for the new league phase.
