Ramsbottom have a Gooden as they beat City of Liverpool

CITY of Liverpool fell to defeat at the hands of Ramsbottom United for the second time this season in an entertaining game on Saturday, where Rams winger Iyrwah Gooden was star of the show.

Only eight minutes were on the clock when Rams skipper Tom Kennedy played a deep curling ball in from the left, which was met at the back stick by Gooden to put the visitors ahead.

It was short-lived however, as the Purps restored parity when Anthony Brown looped Kevin McEllin’s deep free-kick towards the far post for Liam Hynes to bundle home his first Purps goal.
