Venezuela warns against US provocations as warship enters its waters
President Donald Trump waves from the top of the steps of Air Force One at Andrews Air Force Base, last week

VENEZUELA has denounced the latest provocation from Washington after a US warship entered its territorial waters late on Wednesday.

According to reports, the USS Pinckney encroached one nautical mile into Venezuelan waters, ignoring warnings from the Venezuelan military, before heading back into international waters.

A similar encroachment was made last month by the destroyer USS Nitze.
