Iran issues arrest warrant for Trump over Qassim Soleimani assassination

IRAN has asked Interpol to issue an international arrest warrant for US President Donald Trump for ordering a drone strike that killed Iranian Quds commander General Qassim Soleimani while he was visiting Iraq just over a year ago.

The request also includes warrants for 47 other US officials involved in the assassination, which took place at Baghdad International Airport on January 3 2020.

“Iran is very seriously following up on pursuing and punishing those who ordered and executed this crime,” Iranian judiciary spokesman Gholamhossein Esmaili said.
