PATIENTS overwhelmingly support underpaid and overworked NHS staff going on strike, TUC-commissioned research published last night reveals.
The union body hailed “large-scale support” for nurses, ambulance staff and other health service workers who launched national industrial action against years of austerity wages and declining patient safety last month.
The poll came as thousands of nurses across England and about 1,000 ambulance staff in Wales downed tools for another 24-hour walkout yesterday, ahead of what could be the biggest ever NHS strike next month.
