Sunak’s immigration policy is ‘just getting worse with every new gimmick,’ Labour charges
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak speaks during Prime Minister's Questions in the House of Commons, London

PRIME MINISTER Rishi Sunak’s government is the latest Tory administration to deliver “utter failure” over immigration policy, with the problem “just getting worse with every new gimmick,” Labour charged today.

In a raucous Prime Minister’s Questions, leader of the opposition Sir Keir Starmer said the former chancellor was “deluded” to think his widely condemned Migration Bill will reduce the number of small boats crossing the Channel.

The legislation, which was slammed by the United Nations and a host of MPs, unions and migrant campaign groups after it was unveiled on Tuesday, would mean anyone entering the country “illegally” will be removed within 28 days and blocked from returning or claiming British citizenship in the future.
